Completed B.Tech & M.Tech from IIT Delhi in the year 1986 &1988 respectively. Joined IPS in 1989 and was allocated UP Cadre. Served as ASP in Allahabad and Aligarh from 1991 to 1993. Carried out Anti Terror operations as Additional SP in Rudrapur (Nainital) successfully in Tarai region. Served as SP/SSP in Chamoli, Baghpath, Rampur, Shahjahanpur, Mainpuri, Haridwar, Nainital and Mathura. Commanded PAC Battalions in Jhansi, Meerut, Muradabad & Aligarh. Served with United Nations mission in Kosovo and worked in the War Crime Investigation Unit and Received UN Medal for the same.

Contributed towards creation of new infrastructure and modernization of Uttrakhand Police as DIG HQ Dehradun from 2004 to 2007. Served as IG Garhwal and IG Kumaon and contributed towards field policing-sensitive and humanitarian Policing in all 13 districts of Uttarakhand.

Presently he is posted as Additional Director General of Police Uttarakhand at Dehradun.
